White-faced Whistling-Duck
A type of duck named for its un-duck-like whistling call. Hmm. And also for the color of its face. The most interesting thing about this bird is its disjointed range across both Africa and South America. What? White-faced Whistling-Ducks have a snazzy plumage, don’t you think? Besides the namesake white face, they have a black head and neck, and a nice chestnut body plumage with fine white bars along the flank. Our cute cartoon illustration of this unique species is a great gift idea for birdwatchers everywhere!
