Spoon-billed Sandpiper breeding
The Spoon-billed Sandpiper is a critically endangered wading bird that lives in eastern Russia and southeastern Asia. The cute little shorebird with the funny bill is in big trouble, and in 2011 conservationists began a captive breeding program in an attempt to eventually bolster wild breeding birds. . Only time will tell if the breeding program will save the Spoon-billed Sandpiper from extinction.
