Santa Black-bellied Plover
The Black-bellied Plover is a medium-sized species of plover that is found near ocean coastlines around the world outside of breeding season. During the holiday season, it can be seen wearing a Santa Claus hat like the one seen here. Nevermind the bird is in its breeding (summertime) finery at the end of December -- it's all part of that old Christmas magic.
