Sandhill Crane
The Sandhill Crane is a large bird that is native to much of North America. Adults are overall grey in plumage with a red forehead and white cheeks. Young Sandhill Cranes are called colts; both parents participate in their care. Sandhill Cranes are named for an important migratory habitat for the birds located in Nebraska.
