Ferruginous Hawk
The Ferruginous Hawk is the largest species of hawk found in North America. They live across parts of the western half of the continent, where they prefer open habitats of prairie, badlands, and open plains. They are known for their large yellow gape (mouth width), which allows them to consume large prey items like prairire dogs or jackrabbits whole! This is our totally cute Birdorable Ferruginous Hawk!
