Birdorable Red-cockaded Woodpecker
The male Red-cockaded Woodpecker has a small red streak on the side of its head, called a cockade, which gives the bird its name. These special birds live in the southeastern United States. Their conservation status is considered vulnerable; they have very specific habitat needs and their preferred forest habitat is threatened by development. This is our cute cartoon Birdorable version of the Red-cockaded Woodpecker.
